Bring primary STEM learning to life and save hours of preparation time! STEM in Action is the easy-to-implement solution for integrating science, design & technology and maths in one ‘real life’ engineering challenge. The progressive scheme offers ‘ready to teach’ hands-on projects for each year group, 1-5.

STEM in Action kits include:

• Step-by-step lesson plans
• Materials for 24-30 students
• Alignment to the National Curriculum
• Teacher support resources
• Assessment tools and home-links activities
... everything you need to start teaching, right out of the Gratnells storage tray!

Each scenario-based investigation follows an ‘Engineering Design Process’ which connects real world and schoolwork through engaging activities. As students work both independently and collaboratively to investigate a problem-solving challenge, they explore a host of National Curriculum for England (2014) and Scottish Curriculum for Excellence attainment targets in science, D&T and maths, build vocabulary and develop an array of transferrable skills from teamwork and communication to creative thinking - becoming active and collaborative solution seekers!

Providing up to 5 hours of prep-free teaching time, and broken into short sessions of 60 minutes or less, the versatile projects can fit any schedule. Ideal for one short lesson per week, a full STEM day, or a series of afterschool-club activities. Requiring very little prep-time and no specialist training, STEM in Action is an ideal solution for reducing teacher workload and building teacher confidence. Researched by academics, developed by educationalists and tested by teachers, it is designed to make primary STEM teaching and learning simple, accessible and enjoyable!
